uPowerSC, Cleanenergy.org, and the SC Wildlife Federation

The North Strand Coastal Wind Team had a great meeting today with representatives of uPowerSC, the Southern Alliance for Clean Energy, and the South Carolina Wildlife Federation — three great organizations with stakes in the power and energy future of South Carolina:

Today, the uPowerSC Energy Tour is visiting the 3 wind turbines in N. Myrtle Beach. Did you know that SC (General Electric) makes more turbines than any other state?!

• uPowerSC (http://www.upowersc.com/) is a statewide grassroots initiative to educate and engage citizens about South Carolina’s power future.
• The Southern Alliance for Clean Energy (http://www.cleanenergy.org) has been working in the Southeast since 1985 as advocates for climate policy solutions, energy efficiency programs and policies, and renewable energy such as solar, wind, and sustainable bioenergy.
• The South Carolina Wildlife Federation’s (http://www.scwf.org/) mission is to advocate for wildlife, habitat and the environment, educate citizens in the conservation ethic, and support outdoor traditions in South Carolina.
